Paper Types for Cosmetic Packaging Boxes

1. Clay coated backboard

CCNB is short for Clay Coated News Back (duplex paperboard), white clay on high and brown/grey back, it’s made up of 100% recycled fibers.

Clay coated back covers, commonly known as CCNB boxes, are made from a mix of recycled newspaper, old corrugated boxes and other types of paper. CCNB is generally a cost-effective and affordable printing option, but there are some drawbacks to be aware of. Due to its nature and composition, this type of cosmetic outer carton can absorb a lot of moisture, so if you are concerned that moisture will affect the product, you may not choose this option.

2. Folding box board

Folding boxboard is manufactured using a combination of chemical and mechanical materials and processes to create several layers of pulp material that add extraordinary strength and durability. Because the chemical layer of the paper is bleached, it provides a special canvas on which to create high-quality prints, and this cosmetic packaging carton material is stiffer than other grades of paper.

3. Solid bleached sulfate board

Solid bleached sulphate is the epitome of product packaging, similar to folding carton board, with which the fibers are first chemically pulped and then bleached. After this process, the bleached pulp is formed into a box shape. The inner and outer surfaces of the box are white, making it a good choice for entering and exiting prints. Packaging of this grade is also available, such as on-site UV printing, embossing, hot stamping, etc. using high quality special processes

4. Kraft paper or coated unbleached kraft paper

Kraft packaging is made from recyclable materials, making it a smart choice for eco-friendly companies looking to adopt a more eco-friendly packaging style. It is the choice of cosmetic outer packaging carton, its outstanding strength and tear-resistant design make it equally strong and durable, it can be coated with a thin layer of kaolin to make the surface support higher quality printing.
